We proudly present the Team for the 32nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
This year's Team consists of our five students: Zornitsa Dimova, Sevki Dursun, Darya Rasadi, Patrick Penger and Feyza Görgülü. They will represent the Ruhr-University in the Vis Moot starting in October. Linnea Djurberg and Felix Kindler will take over the coaching of the Team and will be supported by Lennard Hülsdau as student coach, who represented the Ruhr-University in last year's competition.
Zornitsa (21) studies law in her 5th semester at Ruhr-University Bochum.
Born and raised in Bulgaria, she moved to Germany at the age of ten, cultivating a deep apprehension for multicultural connections.
To bind her personal multicultural interests she aspires to specify on international law in her future studies.
Currently, she is completing an internship at the Regional Court of Dobrich, Bulgaria.
Known for her passion to debate and rigorous discussions, she finds the Vis Moot to be the perfect platform to apply and further develop her argumentative skills. She is excited to engage with a global community of law students and aspiring professionals and looks forward to working together with her Teammates to achieve success.
Sevki (25) studies law in his 2nd semester at Ruhr-University Bochum.
Due to his Turkish heritage, he has always been interested in other languages and cultures. He places great importance on thinking and acting globally in today's interconnected world, recognizing it as essential for success in his career and beyond. Therefore, he already developed a keen interest in international commercial law. His enthusiasm for the subject drives him to seek new learning opportunities.
He views the participation in the 32nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot as an invaluable opportunity to immerse himself in a challenging and competitive environment that will accelerate his learning and development.
Darya (20) studies law in her 4th semester at Ruhr-University Bochum.
Rooted in a multilingual and multicultural family spread over countries like Iran, Turkey, Finland, the USA, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Australia, internationality is not a foreign vocabulary for her. Due to her cosmopolitan attitude, she also decided to attend a school nominated as a “UNESCO project school” and “talent school for cultural education”.
Additionally, participating in the class “International Dimensions of Law” aroused her interest in deepening her knowledge in this field of private international law. Since she attained together with her group in the Federal President´s History Competition a Promotional Award, she has pursued searching for other ways to work in a Team on a long-term project again.
She looks forward to representing the Ruhr-University in and outside of Germany.
Patrick (22) studies law in his 3rd semester at Ruhr-University Bochum.
Before starting his law studies, he successfully completed a dual study at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Management of North Rhine-Westphalia (Bachelor of Arts).
During that time, Patrick discovered his profound interest in legal studies, especially in private law. In the following time he realized the impact of international aspects of law in different areas.
He always liked to seek new challenges. In addition to the lacking practical aspects of the law studies, he wants to tackle more complex cases and improve his rhetorical and legal English skills. Due to its international extension the 32nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is a great task.
Feyza (20) studies law in her 4th semester at Ruhr-University Bochum.
From an early age, Feyza demonstrated a competitive spirit, starting with language competitions and progressively advancing to more complex challenges such as robotics and programming contests and stock market simulation games, which she successfully completed with her Team.
Additionally, Feyza has a passion for languages, growing up bilingually with German and Turkish, and acquiring proficiency in Italian, French, and English. Even before commencing her law studies, she had a keen interest in commercial law. The Vis Moot combines her enthusiasm for competition with her ambition in the legal field she aspires to pursue post-graduation.
Feyza believes that the Vis Moot is a perfect fit for her and is eager to deepen her knowledge of international commercial law.
