Welcome to the Ruhr University Bochum and its Legal Faculty!
If you are thinking about studying here, we can help you get started by guiding you through the basics:
The Legal Faculty of the RUB is the only one of its kind in the Ruhr area: The Faculty has an attractive and comprehensive curriculum for both national and international students. You can choose from a wide range of courses on the general legal principles in German law as well as a variety of courses held in English in other languages such as French and Spanish.
Here are five reasons why you should study at our legal faculty:
You would like to study at Ruhr-Universität Bochum for one or two semesters?
If you are a student from within the EU, Norway, or Turkey the ERASMUS mobility program is the easiest way for your exchange year here at the RUB. You can find more information here.
If you are an international student from outside the EU, you might be interested in becoming a Freemover at RUB. You can find more information here.
Your registration as a student at RUB is simple:
Following the nomination by your university (for ERASMUS students) or your personal application to the International Office (for Freemover students), you will receive an e-mail from the RUB’s International Office with further instructions and a link to the registration website.
If you have questions at any given point during your application, you can always send us an email (zfi-jura@rub.de) or simply call us (0234 3222007).
In the beginning of every Summer and Winter Semester there is an orientation week for all of our new students:
The RUBiss (RUB’s International Student Service) will provide you with important information and help with formalities, such as registering and enrolling for courses. You can also attend workshops, take part in a guided city tour to get familiar with your new environment and meet and greet your fellow international students.
